Located in the Shekhawati region, Nawalgarh is famous for its tastefully done havelis. It abounds in havelis which were once the residence of the noble and merchant families. The beauty of the interiors of these havelis will leave you spell bound.
Nawalgarh was founded by Thakur Nawal Singh in the 18th century. Here another place of interest for the tourists is the fascinating Nawalgarh Fort built in 1737. The fort now houses some government offices and two banks.
In close vicinity of the fort lies the beautiful Roop Niwas Palace. Today it is famous as a heritage hotel well equipped with modern amenities. The doors of the guest rooms open into lush green gardens which are festooned with several fountains keeping the environment cool in summers. Anandi Lal Podder Haveli is another attraction that houses a school. It was constructed in 1920 and is still in the best condition as compared to other havelis.
Once you are done with these establishments, you must head for Aath Haveli Complex which draws attention of the tourists for being a home to eight havelis, each having its own charm.
